     In chapter 13 of the text LIFESMART, we are presented with the idea of now what? What is the next step to be taken? How can we apply and practice the theory we learned and analyzed. There is numerous ways to take it to the next level and it implies the process of analyzing one's current place and view of life span and how we can better apply it for our own benefit and that of others. There is some professions that focus on working with people and therefore it is of much importance to fully understand the theory of human development. When a professional who serves other is well aware of all that implies a proper development and all the forces that can have an impact on an individuals development, that professional will be able to help others in a much more beneficial manner.       Death is one if not my least favorite topics, I really avoid talking about it. I have to admit that just hearing the word "death" brings chills to my body and it makes me very afraid. I am not afraid to die and the outcome for myself, I am afraid to die and to not be there to raise my kids, I am afraid to die and hurt those that love me . I am mostly very afraid of losing someone I love due to death. The truth is that death is part of life and something we have to deal with most often than we may want to.       Chapter 12 focuses on death, grief, suicide and the spirituality aspect of death. in the book death is classified in four different types; clinical, brain, biological and social. Grief is a response to the loss of a loved one. Grief is a necessary and natural process that takes place for the well-being of a grieving person in a  physical and mental aspect. WEEK 6 DOMINGUEZ GUADALUPE

 This week learning is  focused on early and middle adulthood.  Chapter 9 targets early adulthood, and how youth is been instituted into adulthood life. It also mentioned what circumstances can have an impact on physical development during this years. Sexual and gender roles are also discussed, dating is one of the main and most important practices. It was also referred to love and sexuality as a big part of searching for a stable relationship. Chapter 10 discusses factors that can have an effect on middle age people in a sexual, and intellectual ways. Also the outcomes of relationships during this years were elaborated on. On chapter 10 it is suggested that during these years a person's marriage can get stronger as well as parental and sibling relationships.             I will elaborate on Sternberg arguments on social development and marital practices along with parenthood. WEEK 5... Dominguez Guadalupe

      Section 8 concentrates on adolescence, there is not a specific  age set for when it starts or ends, it is based more on outcomes. The age range may be from around 10 to 19 , but it does not always apply. Adolescence is crucial and can even be stressful because of  the big changes that are taking place  in different aspects such as physical, cognitive and social. The reading mentions the Broadway Musical, Spring awakening , which focuses on topics adolescents can highly relate. The play was written in 1891 by Frank Wedekind and it touches some controversial topics such as rape, sexual orientation, violation, forcible intercourse, self-destruction and suicide. At first the play was banned for its content but now of days it is accepted and it opens a gate of conversation between parents and children and or adolescent public. WEEK 4 ....GUADALUPE DOMINGUEZ...

      We read and learned about early childhood and middle childhood in chapters 6 and 7. Chapter 6 focused on early childhood which takes place from ages 2 to 6, during this time physical and motor skills are achieve, also during this same time changes in the brain take place and social skills develop. During these years growth and development is still taking place but at a much slower pace than it did during infancy, but it is more elaborate and complicated.             Language gain is one of the major developmental events during these early years on a child's life. Children normally master the art of language by the time they enter first grade with no regular or strict formulated activities or any form of academic instruction in most cases. A child's vocabulary may be around 14,000 words, and are able to apply language in different conditions.      Chapter 2 in the textbook "LIFESMART" starts by laying out the importance of theories. We are informed of how theories are an aid to keep information organize. Theories help us focus while we hunt through the mystique of the human evolution and assist with the explanation of how one can obtain conclusions out of given information. Theories can also be tested as a mean to be confirmed truthfully or not. In page 28 a theory is defined as "a belief or idea that develops based on information or evidence; a proposed explanation for observed phenomena"(LIFESMART.2011.) It then goes on to present the different theories; Freud, Erickson, Piaget, Vygotsky, Skinner and Lerner.       On the text it goes on to explain the different theories. Freud concentrated mostly on the psychosocial stages to which the fundamental features are the Id, ego, superego and psycho-sexual stages. Week 1-Guadalupe Dominguez- My Reflection

     The first reading was a brief introduction to Lifespan Development and its foundations,it  is  a brief summary to the different topics that we will be learning. The term Lifespan development refers to the changes a person must go through during his\her life time ranging from prenatal stage through older age stage. There are a total of eight developmental stages; the prenatal phase, infancy phase, early childhood phase,middle childhood phase, adolescence phase, early adulthood phase, middle adulthood phase and older age phase. The publication "LifeSmart" suggest that lifespan maturity is the actual outcome of reciprocal action between biological, cognitive and socioemotional factors.      A design of the biopsychosocial model was introduced as a mean to clarify.
